The hook is totally loose but I can't get it out without loosening up the presser bar and /or the needle bar, so I plan on cleaning it the best I can, without taking it out. I ended up taking some of the hook linkages? sp? including the bobbing case bracket holder and ejector button off, before I could get the bobbin case itself out. Yes, I did take lots of pictures and hopefully I can reassemble it correctly. So I got tired of waiting so I turned it over and started to take things apart. That's all the info I have on it, so I don't know which version this one is.

The serial # is G9912366, and was made March 13, 1923. So I made a new topic to ask: are all 66 bobbin cases interchangeable? If I clean up this old one, can it be reused?I had no idea there were different 66's made. I keep getting lost in hours and hours of reading (very interesting) posts, but not finding out what I want to know. I spent hours researching and youtubing, etc, and trying to find info here on VSS, on this issue.
I spent a couple days jiggling and turning every which way, and could not get it out to clean it thoroughly. The bobbin case is/was rusted and "stuck". I recently bought this Red Eye 66, and have begun to clean it up, it's very rusty and crusty, and using SMO and elbow grease, I'm making a little progress, and got it unfrozen.
